1. Go to www.salliemae.com and click on " Loans for Training" under " Getting a Loan ".

2. Click on "Career Training Loan". On the next page click "Ready To Apply?"

3. Near the bottom of the page click "Start your Career Training Loan Application."

4. Choose the state the school is in. This step is very important since some locations may not be listed. If your state is not listed and/or you will be registering for a correspondence course or online course choose the California location.

5. From the list of schools, select "Inspection Training Associates (Kaplan)."

6. Contact Name April Gilman- SLM Coordinator.

7. Read SLM Financial website terms of use.

8. Enter personal information.

9. Choose enrollment period (ex: mm/dd/yyyy).

10. Enter borrower information.

11. Enter loan amount. There will be a Tuition Amount and Expense Amount.

• Tuition amount = amount to be used for classes, products, and tools go directly to school.
• Expense amount = amount to be used for personal expenses go directly to the borrower. The expense amount can not exceed 60% above the tuition amount.

12. Enter disbursement date. This will be the date that the funds are sent to the school and to the borrower.

13. Submit application and wait for response. The borrower may find out immediately or within 24 hours if approved.

14. The school will be notified of outcome. Contact April Gilman - SLM Coordinator to register, customize a business package of with any questions.
